Many people own either the basic Stan Smiths or the “superstar” Adidas shoes. While walking to your class in the hallway, you may notice that about 50 other strangers are wearing the same exact shoes as you are.
So why not be original and wear something that no one else has, like classic throwbacks or other vintage platform shoes? It may not be as immediately convenient, but there are tons of cool kicks to choose from.
One of my personal favorites are the Vans “old skool” shoe, which is still popular but not nearly as common as the stereotypical Adidas style. By wearing this shoe, it shows that you have style but don’t want to be as basic as everyone else. Conveniently, these shoes are also cheaper than a typical pair of Adidas and come in a wide variety of colors.
Another style worth looking into is the Zara split suede plimsolls, available anywhere there’s a Zara store. They only come in khaki but are super trendy and fit with almost every outfit, ranging from casual to formal.
This last shoe is the Sam Edelman Leya faux fur sneaker. They tend to be on the more expensive side, but are the exact opposite of common and can make outfits look much more stylish. Though these shoes are a bit more fancy and are harder to pull off, they are a guaranteed stunner.
Take note of these new trends, and don’t be afraid to step out of your comfort zone and be unique– who knows, you might start the newest trend!
