Monday: “Sunday Candy“- Donnie Trumpet & The Social Experiment
In addition to this Monday being a day off, it is also going to be the hottest day of the week, which calls for an upbeat song that makes you want to get up and dance when it comes on. That is exactly what “Sunday Candy” is. Actually sung by artists Chance the Rapper and Jamila Woods, this hit is from Donnie Trumpet & The Social Experiment’s debut album Surf. “Sunday Candy” is undeniably the best song you could listen to on a day like this, so definitely check it out (just not while you’re at temple)!
Wednesday: “1000 Nights“- Frenship
This Wednesday will be a nice day: not too hot and not too cold– perfect weather for this song. Released just at the beginning of September, “1000 Nights” is a track from the EP Truce, from musical duo Frenship who are also behind “Capsize” and “Run Wild”. With its chill beats and catchy melody, this song is a must-have for long days like the cool Wednesdays at the beginning of fall.
Throwback Thursday: “Hey Ya!“- Outkast
Thursday is also going to be a moderate day for weather, in between warm and cold. Even if that was not the case, this song would still be the song choice because it will never not be a bump you can listen to in any weather. “Hey Ya!” is from as far back as 2003 and is by OutKast, the group that also sings “Ms. Jackson” and “Roses”. Every song sung by Outkast is an automatic hit, but “Hey Ya!” is by far one of the best, so if I were you, I’d but it on your Thursday playlist ASAP.
Friday: “Cinderella“- Mac Miller ft. Ty Dolla $ign
This Friday is also going to be a hot day in comparison to the rest of the week, and it is the day before another three-day weekend, so really this day could not be better. Unless you listen to “Cinderella” by Mac Miller. Featuring Ty Dolla $ign, “Cinderella” is from Mac’s new album The Divine Feminine which also includes tracks like “Stay” and “My Favorite Part”. The lyrics and overall composition of this song make it just so good, and even better if you listen to it on a Friday night after you get out of school and you have no more responsibilities.
