Teen Dating Program To Be Held Tomorrow

The Newton South Community has collaborated with experts from REACH Beyond Domestic Violence, Journey to Safety, the Boston Area Rape Crisis Center, and the Newton-Wellesley Hospital to develop a program for both adults and students around the issue of teen dating violence.

On Monday night, the parent section of the program—“Demystifying Teen Relationships”—was held at Newton South.

Tomorrow, Wednesday February 14th, there will be a series of workshops held in the Lecture Hall to promote education in the student body around dating violence in the school community.

The focus of the program is to teach students warning signs and to give them information in order for them to become responsible bystanders. Teachers will be given the option to bring students to the workshop instead of having a normal class block.

Students whose teachers have not signed up can also attend the workshop.
