Exciting news was announced last week regarding the arrival of a sit-down brunch restaurant called “The Friendly Toast.” This is the chain’s fifth location, and it has opened in the Chestnut Hill Mall. If you are looking to munch on some pancakes while surrounded by “mid-century decor” this is the place for you.

The Friendly Toast has a high rating of 4/5 stars with the majority of the reviews complimenting the food and service. Eric Goodwin, co-owner of the Friendly Toast says, “We are very excited to continue to expand our footprint in Massachusetts and bring another Friendly Toast to Greater Boston.”

Their 70-item menu offers a variety of options. You can go with classic breakfast items like avocado toast, waffles, or french toast; if you don’t want breakfast, you can get a hamburger or chicken burger—whatever you may be craving. In addition, the restaurant has highly-rated vegan and gluten-free options.

With 4,000 square feet of floor space, the restaurant has plenty of room. It can fit 185 guests inside and 40 guests on the patio outside. Despite its large size, be prepared for a wait! The restaurant is usually packed with people, so making a reservation in advance is suggested.

The Friendly Toast has been rumored to be coming to Newton since July 2021 when an article was released on “Boston Restaurant Talk,” a news source that speaks on Boston restaurants. Now that The Friendly Toast has officially opened, the owners are eager to establish connections and relations with their potential customers.

“We look forward to growing our relationship with the local residents and are eager to partner with local organizations that have an impact on Chestnut Hill and its residents,” says Scott Pulver, co-owner of The Friendly Toast.

The food looks great and the spacious layout looks comfortable. If you have nothing to do on a Saturday morning, you should definitely stop by Chestnut Hill and try it for yourself!
