This Past Week
Friday 12/16: This past Friday was Tea Barn. This event, set up by Newton South literary magazine Reflections, happens several times a year and is a truly unique South tradition. At 7:30, all students from South are invited over to a student’s house for performances of music and poetry, with tons of dancing and, of course, tea. If you missed this one, be sure to make it next time!
This Coming Week
Friday 12/23: This coming friday during B block, teachers can sign up their classes to go to a music performance on the auditorium. Talented South groups, including chorus, band, orchestra, various jazz groups, will all be playing some holiday music to get students in the mood for vacation. This is also the opportune moment to break out your ugly holiday sweater.
Friday 12/23: Newton South’s mixed chorus caroling is sure to be the best part of the day. It is a tradition that highlights not only South’s talent, but unity and excitement for the holidays. Just remember to stick your head out the classroom door to join in on a verse of “Let it Snow.”
