This Past Week

Friday 3/3: This past Friday evening at 7:30, Children of the Candy Corn, Souths one and only improv group, put on the show of the season. Obama’s Third Trimester took place at Gregorian Rugs in Newton Lower Falls, and the unique atmosphere perfectly fit the mood of the show. Although it ran pretty late into the night, the laughter never seemed to cease– especially during the Candy Corn favorite game, “Sex with me.” The troupe’s engaging and connective performances never disappoint, so if you couldn’t make it to this one, be sure to get your tickets early for the next one!

This Coming Week

Monday 3/6- Saturday 3/18: On the topic of tickets and amazing South performances, Rent tickets are on sale and selling out fast! Rent, which follows a group of starving artists over the course of a year as they search for emotional and artistic fulfillment in the face of the AIDS epidemic, will take place March 16,17, and 18 (Thursday, Friday, Saturday). It is sure to be one of the most spectacular performances of the year. Tickets are available here and in the Theater Office.

Monday 3/6- Sunday 3/19: While Rent is happening at South, Theatre Ink, Newton North’s theater company, will also be putting on their production of Fiddler on the Roof. This classic show, which runs from March 16th through March 19th. is chalk full of classic musical theater favorites like “Tradition” and “If I Were a Rich Man”, and is sure to be an entertaining and highly relevant production that the entire family can enjoy.
