Tim Hill, the director of the 2007 film, was exuberant after hearing that the latest Marvel film would get another chance to hit theaters.
“I just immediately thought this was a great opportunity to capitalize on, so I decided I might as well do the same” tells Hill.
Although Alvin and the Chipmunks is far from breaking the box office record, Hill explains that it’s too good of an opportunity to pass up on.
“I mean honestly it would feel stupid not to, y’know? It’s a chance, and that’s all we really need,” continues Hill.
Film critics, numerous directors, my neighbors, and really anybody with a basic sense of reasoning has agreed that there’s not a chance Alvin and the Chipmunks even comes close to scratching the box office record, but Hill adamantly stands by his claim: “We will prevail.”
