It is that time of year again! We all pile into lines during Black Friday and load up our online shopping carts on Cyber Monday, hoping to get the best gift deals for our friends and families. Some love the idea of holiday shopping and gift giving, whereas others (like me) find it super stressful to try and pick out the perfect gift to make our loved ones smile. For all of you stressed-out people, I have compiled a list of some of the top trending gifts of 2022!
Electronics
As predicted, the new iPhone 14 is at the top of everyone’s list right now. However, a much less expensive gift idea along those lines is a new phone case. Some of my go-to phone case brands are Wildflower and Casetify because they are high quality and offer many fun designs.
Adding on to the Apple product frenzy, Airpod Pros are in high demand this holiday season. Honestly, you cannot go wrong with a classic pair of AirPods since so many of us listen to music while working out or studying. I prefer the original generation of AirPods since they are more comfortable and cheaper than the generally more favorable Pros.
A hit gift, year after year, is definitely the three-in-one charging hub. It charges your phone, Apple Watch, and AirPods all in one! It is a practical, enjoyable gift for any Apple product user and also saves outlet space.
Instant cameras are also super trendy right now, as they capture a single photo in real time and add a vintage feel. Polaroid is a classic camera brand that is reliable and takes amazing photos, but some other great camera brands are Kodak and Canon, which have both digital and disposable cameras.
Beauty
It is always good to stock up on hair care, and the Gisou hair oil is trending right now, as it makes your hair silky smooth — what is not to love? Another popular hair tool is the Dyson Airwrap, which simultaneously dries and styles hair, but a more affordable option is the Revlon dry brush. I got the Dyson Airwrap last year for the holidays, and while I do love it, I would not say it is worth the price.
For someone who enjoys skincare, a thoughtful gift is a skincare set, as they package many skincare items all in one. Brands have been making their packaging Christmas-themed, and in particular, Kiehl’s has a cute set called the Hydrating Winter Wonders (it is also a great deal). Some other trending skincare brands are CeraVe, Glossier, Paula’s Choice, and Dr. Barbara Sturm, which all contain great-quality, nicely packaged products.
Clothing/shoes
The Tasman Ugg slippers are super popular right now and for good reason! They are comfy and can be worn throughout the year, which makes them a perfect gift. Unfortunately, they are selling out everywhere, so if you are out of luck, some other trending street shoe brands are Converse, Nike, and New Balance. Slippers, in general, are a perfect gift for literally anyone — a friend, sibling, or even a grandparent — so do not stress if you cannot get your hands on a pair of uggs; any brand will suffice.
Everybody loves Lululemon, and while it is pricey, I think it is worth every penny. Nothing beats their soft and light leggings; my personal favorite is the Align ones. Lululemon also has nice flare leggings, which have been majorly trending this past year. On top of that, another useful Lulu product is the Everywhere Belt Bag, which is basically a trendy fanny pack that can hold a lot of items.
The World Cup is currently a topic in many people’s discussions, causing many to want to get their favorite player’s jerseys for the holidays. This is a great gift, especially for people who really enjoy watching or playing soccer. Sports jerseys, in general, are a fabulous gift idea for all those sports-loving fans out there. I remember getting my first Patriots jersey for Hanukkah when I was ten — I was so obsessed with the detailed lettering and thick material that I did not want to take it off!
Whatever you get someone is a wonderful gesture in and of itself — it is the thought that counts, right? So, do not worry too much about buying the perfect gift.
