This Upcoming Week:

Tuesday-Wednesday 5/17-18: Sophomore Math MCAS

All sophomores are required to take the Massachusetts Comprehensive Assessment System test in math. Students will be assessed on their proficiency in both geometry and algebra based skills.

All students and faculty will follow a special schedule during both testing days and a link to the special schedule is provided below.

Tuesday- Friday 5/18-20: Used Book Sale

The annual Newton South Used Book Sale is occurring on these days and all proceeds raised from the sale support literacy programs at South.

Interested donors can drop off any used books at the storage trailer outside Goldrick House on Monday, May 16 between 7:15-8:15 and 2:30-3:30 or Tuesday, May 17 from 7:15-8:15.

Friday 5/20- Freshman Cruise

All freshman are invited to the annual Freshman Cruise which includes food, music, and dancing on a boat circling the Boston Harbor.

Freshman who want to attend must pay a $45 admission fee.

Sunday 5/22- Holi

Newton South’s South Asian Student Association (SASA) is organizing a special holi event that promises food, music, and color at Newton South on this day from 12:30-4:30.

Interested attendees must pay a $10 admission fee.

Thursday 5/12: Newton Special Education PAC Meeting

The Newton Parent Advisory Council for Special Education (NewtonPAC) held a meeting at the Education Center discussing special needs trusts and estate planning.

Speaker Annette M. Hines, who has been practicing in areas of special needs, estate planning, and elder law for fifteen years, contributes personal and professional experiences on quality special needs planning.
