Manchester United vs Liverpool, otherwise known as the red rivalry, kicked off at 11:00 am eastern time on Sunday.
This game had high expectations going into it, as it’s one of the biggest games in British soccer.
United needed the win more than Liverpool did, especially because they are in sixth place and are twelve points off of the league leaders Chelsea.
In the first half Liverpool were the more dangerous side. They went 1-0 up due to the conversion of James Milner’s 21’ minute penalty, from Paul Pogba’s handball.
In the second half, Manchester United came out as a completely different team, Jose Mourinho even converted to playing long ball after bringing on Marouane Fellaini. This tactic ultimately lead to the late equalizer of Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s fantastic headed finish.
The game ultimately finished as a one all draw. For Liverpool this was a great point, especially due to the fact that they were away from home. However, Manchester United, should have gotten more out of this game, because they are on a 16 match unbeaten run.
Other Notable Games:
Arsenal convincingly beat Swansea City 4-0, in a game that involved two own goals.
Everton battered Manchester City 4-0. Head coach Ronald Koeman is proving that he really is a top-class manager.
Chelsea beat the champions Leicester City 3-0 without their top goal scorer Diego Costa, who was dropped after a fallout with manager Antonio Conte.
