Summer is almost here, and what is summer without an awesome playlist? We have got you covered with a list of some of our favorite tunes to add to your 2k16 summer playlist! We tried to include a variety of genres, so hopefully everyone can find a new song that they will enjoy and can jam out to!
“Light it Up” by Major Lazer
This is an electro pop kind of song, but it definitely has a great summer vibe.
“As Long As You Love Me” by Justin Bieber
This is a little bit of a throwback, but you can never go wrong with a song by Justin Bieber! I just saw him in concert and it has inspired me to look back at all of his old work (all of which I highly recommend as well).
“One Love” by Drake
Drake is awesome, so that’s probably why he is topping the charts with so many of his songs right now. Still, this is my favorite song of his at the moment. It was released at a great time, right before the beginning of summer! It is definitely a contender for the title of Song of the Summer.
“This is What You Came For” by Rihanna and Calvin Harris
Even though Calvin just broke up with Taylor Swift, we can still appreciate his upbeat song with Rihanna!
“Here It Is” by Flo Rida and Chris Brown
This is such an upbeat song. It has a really positive vibe and I think it will be really popular this summer.
“Kill Em’ With Kindness” by Selena Gomez
Selena Gomez is such a talented musician. I did not get to see her in concert, but I heard that it was a blast, so I started listening to her newest album, which I think is pretty underrated. You should definitely check her Revival album if you are interested in her music.
“Never Be Like You” by Flume
This is kind of on the newer side. I’m a big fan of this song and I know that Flume just released a new album, but I have not listened to any of the new songs on it. His new album is called Skin, if you are interested in his other work.
“If it Ain’t Love” by Jason Derulo
Jason Derulo’s song “Trumpet” may have topped the charts last year, but this new song of his might surpass it, it’s such a fun dance pop song.
“Girls Like” by Tinie Tempah and Zara Larsson
This song has a really cool beat and is more of a rap song. Zara Larsson is growing in popularity and I think that this is a cool sound for her.
“Wherever I Go” by OneRepublic
I really enjoy this one. It is very upbeat like a lot of these options, and is the definition of a summer song. It is so uplifting and happy that I can picture myself on the beach listening to it.
“Hymn for the Weekend” by Coldplay
This song really took its popularity earlier this year, but it still remains awesome because of Queen B– I linked the music video just so you could appreciate her majesty.
