Here, I will answer questions that high schoolers have.
1. What’s the difference between a credit card and a debit card?
Well, a credit card is essentially borrowing money from whatever credit card company you happen to use to buy something. You then pay back the company for the money you spent plus other charges. A debit card takes money directly from your bank account, and you use it for whatever you want.
2. What’s a Juul?
Don’t get me started.
3. Does anyone want to hear about the mission trip I took to Ecuador?
No.
But I helped…
No.
4. My parents didn’t buy me the car I want!
That’s not a question, and you should be grateful your family can even afford a car.
5. What’s the difference between there, their, and they’re?
“There” is an adverb. This means that it describes a verb, an adjective, or another adverb. It describes the location of something. An example is: “My house is over there.”
“Their” is a possessive pronoun. It implies that a noun belongs to somebody, in this case a group of people. An example is: “Their jackets are very flashy.”
“They’re” is a contraction of a conjugated verb. It is a combination of the words “they” and “are.” If you could use the words they and are in place of they’re, you’re doing it right. An example is “I like glasses; they’re very cool.”
6. If I post a screenshot of a song I’m listening to on my snapchat story, will people think I’m cool?
No, nobody cares.
But what if it’s an underground artist that only I know?
Good for you, but still, nobody cares.
7. Should I post pictures of myself at the gym?
Unless you’re The Rock, no.
8. What time should I get to school to get a spot on Brandeis?
I’d say 6:50-7:00 should be an ok time, but you’ll be almost guaranteed a spot between 6:45-6:50. If you’re lazy and want to sleep in, you can park behind the streets to the right of Brandeis or in the senior lot, but only park in the lot if you’re getting to school after B block.
9. How do I factor polynomials?
The math center is located on the second floor of the four thousands. It’s the room on the left side next to the water fountains.
10. How many licks does it take to get to the Tootsie Roll center of a Tootsie Pop?
Purdue engineering students made a machine to try it, and the average number of licks was 364. However, this number could vary with different people.
