Oct. 9, 2016 – 20 minutes before the debate, an advisor of Donald Trump walked up to the candidate and let him know that he is, in fact, not running against Bill Clinton.
Said the advisor, “After all of the things he’s been saying, I just felt like he should know the truth.”
For months now, Trump has been slamming Mr. Clinton during debates, press conferences, and speeches. Close friends have said just how surprised Trump has been at how much press attention Mrs. Clinton has been getting. According to said friends, he’s been sharing a large amount of jealousy at the fact that Melania hasn’t been getting as much coverage.
When confronted about his 2005 Access Hollywood leaked audio, he was happy to comment on how he’s heard “much worse” from Mr. Clinton on the golf course. It was at this point, according to the advisor, when the campaign realized that Trump was unaware of his running mate.
People nearby his revelation reported that it resulted in a three-pronged reaction. Firstly, he supposedly laughed for approximately 11 minutes, presumably at the fact that a woman is running for president. Secondly, the realization that the advisor was serious resulted in him to start incessantly sniffling, obviously out of nervousness. Finally, he looked down at his debate notecards, looked back up at his advisor, and grimaced.
Upon the debate’s finish, one can only assume that he just used the original points, as he consistently put down the prospective first man.
One of our reporters was able to catch up with Trump afterwards. Said Trump, “Huh? What? Pssh. I totally knew I was running against Billar–excuse me, Hillary Clinton.”
