As January comes to a close, here are some of the main events that 2021 has brought us so far.
It’s a new year! That’s a highlight in and of itself.
Though it may not feel like much has changed yet from 2020, it is important to stay optimistic and focus on your goals going forward. There is so much to look forward to!
COVID-19 vaccinations
The U.S. is working exceptionally hard to vaccinate a high percentage of its population against COVID-19 to end the outbreak once and for all. Since vaccine distribution began, more than 64 million doses have been administered, reaching 13.3% of the total U.S. population. This continues to grow, as the United States is currently administering over 1.6 million shots a day. According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, Joe Biden’s goal for administering 100 million vaccines in 100 days is on track to occur.
Donald Trump’s impeachment
On January 13th, the House of Representatives voted 232 to 197 to impeach Trump exactly one week after the riots at the Capitol. This is the first time a president has been impeached twice. Since then, the Senate has voted to acquit him.
Super Bowl is coming
In early February, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will face off the Kansas City Chiefs in Tampa, Florida.

Several students are now going into the building twice a week and adjusting to this new routine. Many students who opted to go in person have felt more connected to their peers and teachers. Though nothing is necessarily perfect and everyone is still learning, so far the feedback of this model has been mostly positive.
