Newtones successfully hosted the Winter Warmer, their first event of the school year, at Gregorian Oriental Rugs on January 19th.

Georgian Rugs, a cozy store located in Newton Lower Falls, was an optimal location due to its warm, homey and genuine feeling, which provided a wonderful setting.

Newtones has done multiple collaborations here in the past, and all of them have brought in a full room of fans and family.

This spectacular night also owes its success to the diversity of the groups performing, highlighted by the inclusion of South’s improv group, Children of the Candy Corn, as well as a few more acapella groups.

Newtones began the night with a couple beautiful songs, the first of which was a mashup of “Colors” by Halsey and “All Time Low” by Jon Bellion soloed by sophomore Lev Rosenberg, followed by “Remedy” by Adele soloed by senior Lauren Sasson.

Throughout the night, two other acapella groups performed, including South’s Euphonic and Perfect Pitch, an all-girl acapella group from Brookline High School.

South’s ever so hilarious improv group, Candy Corn, was the only non-singing group to perform, and their jokes and wit made the whole room laugh. Although they had their own concert earlier this year, Candy Corn’s originality makes it hard for audience members to predict or get bored of their content.

Newtones wrapped up the successful night with another beautiful song, “In The Name of Love” by Martin Garrix and Bebe Rexha soloed by senior Rachel Nacht.

If one either missed this show or just loved it so much they want to go again, make sure to attend the ICHSA Northeast Quarterfinals at Danvers High School on February 3rd to see the Newtones compete against other acapella groups.
